Mother Goose

Mother Goose is based on the idea that playful, imaginative language should be an important part of a child’s life from infancy and beyond. All Mother Goose programs are free!

What Happens at Mother Goose?

  • Small groups meet for about an hour once a week in a friendly relaxed place.
  • Facilitators lead parents with their children in songs, rhymes and finger plays
  • Snack time lets you get to know other parents and children in your community
  • Programs last for up to 10 weeks.

What are the Benefits for Parents

  • See how using rhymes and song can affect how their children behave and learn.
  • Learn new ways of dealing with cranky, fussy, and sleepy times.
  • Gain confidence as parents.

Children

  • Improve language and other pre-literacy skills.
  • Gain self esteem and confidence.
  • Develop social skills.

Parents and Children

  • Experience the delight that comes from enjoying a favourite rhyme or song together.
  • Learn rhymes, songs, and stories.
  • Enjoy strengthened bonding.
